Belisle's History and Biography
This small family run company started with Marcia and her love of the plant world.  She has been doing this
commercially now for 25 years and she has been experimenting with violets for around 50 years. Her husband Bernie
built her first greenhouse in 1966.  She has been expanding ever since.   When they moved into their house that they
live in now a room in the basement that was lovingly nicknamed "the jungle" started with  just a few plant stands and
then it literally grew out into another room nicknamed the cloud forest.  Eventually she built now what is called the plant
building.  Although some plants still hang from every hook in the house most of the plants are housed and live very

happy in the plant building. (Original name I know)

She has shared her love of the plants with her kids and her grand kids and now another generation, her great grands.

Her daughter Lynda used to help frequently but now she rests in God's hands in heaven.

Her daughters Ann and Jeanne and daughter-in-law Melanie have all been to AVSA conventions and AGGS
conventions as well.
Thanks Ann and Jeanne and Melanie for keeping us entertained with rubberbands and whatever
you could find to play with when the floor was empty!!!!   Jeanne's husband Dan has been very helpful of all of 'us'
women and our fancies.  He has gone to conventions as well.  Thanks Dan for driving and putting up with us!!

Melanie also did the catalogs for many years and now has passed the job onto me! (Jaime). :) thanks Mel for all the
long hours and typing!

Marcia would like to thank
everyone over the years for the advice, knowledge and just a listening ear who have
helped her!!!

Also, I would like to thank Grandma for doing this for all these years and teaching us.  I know she has forgotten more
than I will probably ever be able to learn.  LOVE YA GRANDMA!!!
Also thanks for sticking through the tough times and the fun times!!

The creations that have Marcia has come up with.. Please take a chance to look at them. Her sinningias are the
'Country' series, 'Chippewa' series along with her other crosses.
Jeanne came up with the 'Northwoods' series for streptocarpus'.  I am proud of both!!
